Verification Process

1

Guardian Consent for Under-18 Sitters

A guardian completes a consent link and electronic signature for a sitter under 18. This records consent; it does not establish a criminal background check or government-ID verification of the sitter or guardian.

2

TrustLine Registration for Adult Sitters

Sitters aged 18 and older submit a TrustLine registration number and registered name. Our team manually checks the registration against California's TrustLine registry before approving a TrustLine badge. We do not claim that minor sitters or their guardians have passed criminal background checks.

3

Profile Review

All profiles are manually reviewed by our team before going live. Photos must clearly show the user.

Safety Concerns

Conversation participants can block further contact and submit concerns for human review. These controls do not guarantee safety.

Guidelines for Parents

Age-Tiered Care Policy

To ensure child safety, SitterLane enforces age-based restrictions on which children a sitter may care for based on the sitter's age:

Sitters aged 14–15

May care for children 6 months and older

Parents are responsible for verifying their sitter meets these age requirements before booking.
